Timed Chants & Songs

Boundary Road

Based on John Denver’s classic Country Roads, this song is a reminder of the Southsiders’ origins at Swangard Stadium on Boundary Road. Usually sung with scarves held high at the start of each half:

Boundary Road, take me home,
To the place where I belong.
Vancouver, pretty mama,
Take me home, Boundary road.

When the opposition misses high or wide

To the tune of Go West by The Pet Shop Boys

How high/wide do you want the net?

(Repeat x4)
Raise arms either above your head or out to the side on “high/wide”.

When the opposition scores on us.

To the tune of Que Sera, Sera by Doris Day. The song was inspired by ex-Caps coach Teitur Thordarson. When asked about the condition of the Swangard pitch following an American football game, he responded “it’s not like f’n Wembley, is it?”

Que sera, sera,
Whatever will be, will be,
It’s not bloody Wembley,
Que sera, sera.

When the Whitecaps score.

The underlying riff to Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes

Eight-Six

A reminder of our roots as a Vancouver 86ers supporters group, as well as a nod to Vancouver’s founding in 1886. This song is sung, winning, losing or tied, to the refrain of The Beatles’ Hey Jude during the 86th minute of play at every game.

Naaaaa, na na, na na na naaaaa,
Na na na naaaaa,
Eight six.

I Am A Vancouverite

To the tune of Anarchy In The UK

I am a Vancouverite!
I cheer for the blue and white!
Don’t know what I want but I know how to get,

Just Can’t Get Enough

A tweaked version of the Depeche Mode classic.

When I see you, Whitecaps,
I go out of my head,
I just can’t get enough,
I just can’t get enough,
All the things you do to me,
And all the things you said,
I just can’t get enough,
I just can’t get enough
Here in the Southside, I’m falling in love,
And I just can’t seem to get enough

(while bouncing)

Do do do-do-do-do-do,
Do do do-do-do-do-do.
