MLS Round 27: D.C. United

Home Game Day Info

Saturday, August 17th, Kickoff 7:00pm

There were some good things and some bad things that happened in Portland last weekend. Let’s start with the bad: the Whitecaps lost and will not be reclaiming the Cascadia Cup. The club is also mathematically eliminated from the Supporters Shield race. American Soccer Analysis has the Whitecaps chance of making the playoffs at a cool 0.0% (but that’s just, like, their opinion, man). So there will be no hardware this year. The season ends October 6th.

Now the good: that absolute screamer from Theo Bair.

So… DC United is coming to town. They’re a Playoff Team™. They have A Good Player™ who has apparently deigned to travel to our fair city. We’ll probably be seeing at least one of our new players, Ricketts and/or Chirinos, make an appearance for a few minutes. And maybe, if we’re lucky, see another thunderbolt launched from the boot of a Whitecap.
