Away Game Day Info
Saturday, July 6th, Kickoff 7:30pm
The less said about last Saturday’s match, the better, but now that I’ve mentioned it, I guess we all have to sit silently for a moment and mentally relive how it ended. Sorry about that.
As a result of the loss, the Whitecaps are no longer in the driver’s seat to reclaim the Cascadia Cup. With one match left for the Whitecaps to play for the Caps, they need a win against Portland and for Seattle to drop a result, preferably two. Que será, será.
And now for something completely different: playing away to league leaders LAFC. Fun Fact™: LAFC has double the points that the Whitecaps have (and earned them in one fewer game so far). Another Fun Fact™: The Whitecaps are one of only two teams to have beaten them this season. The other team is Colorado, who we can charitably call the Whitecaps peers, results-wise. Here’s hoping we can trip LAFC up again. MDS will have a few more options with which to try to stymie his former club. The Canadian contingent should be back from the Gold Cup but we’re still without Lass Bangoura, who is still with Guinea in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
